What happens when you want staff to engage in a new initiative? There’s “no time for change!”. But what happens when the Christmas decoration competition time comes around? Everyone wants to be involved!
It’s all about GAMIFICATION! Engaging people by making things fun!

Volkswagen run the Fun Theory programme. The principle behind it is that the easiest way to change people's behavior for the better is to make whatever they need to do fun. Check it out on YouTube - there are lots of videos demonstrating how it works, for example the Piano Stairs - they made climbing the stairs more fun by turning them into a piano and more people chose to ignore the neighboring escalator and climb the stairs! Or the Speed Camera Lottery! The fun idea there was to take a picture of the registration plates of all the cars that are driving within the speed limit and enter the names in a lottery. Winners receive cash prizes in the mail, from a winning pot created from the money collected from drivers who were caught speeding.
